Shipping a Car
When it comes to shipping a car there are many of things that you
should know and understand to make sure that you truly understand what
shipping a car is all about. I am sure that there are a lot of
questions that you are going to want to have answered before shipping
a car so I am going to answer a few of them for you. The number one
question when it comes to shipping a car is how long it will take to
ship your vehicle. The answer to that question is fairly simple
because pick up and transit times vary from company to company and by
location and destination. Most auto transport takes between one to
three weeks total time. Plan on a one to seven day pick up time and
then an additional seven to fourteen days for transit and delivery.
Some companies will indeed offer expedited services for an additional
fee.
When to Prepare for Shipping a Car
When you are considering shipping a car you should know that the
farther in advance you can schedule auto shipping for your car, the
more likely you will be able to meet the time requirements you wish to
have. For best results, try to schedule shipping a month in advance.
The more time that you allow yourself to prepare for the shipment the
more time that you have to put everything in order. Time is money and
if you have everything together from the beginning you want have
anything to worry about nothing as far as ordering your services for
the move.
Shipping a Car Pick Up & Delivery
All the quotes on house-movers.us are for the standard door to door
auto shipping, auto carriers will attempt to provide door to door
service, but are not always able to pick up and deliver from
residential addresses. Narrow streets, lower power lines, and heavy
vehicle restrictions may prevent the auto carriers from getting
directly to your address. Meeting in a nearby parking lot is often the
best solution. Another question you may have is whether or not you
have to be present the day of the move. The truth of the matter is you
should be present at that time and if you cannot be there you should
designate someone who can be there. You also need to be there when the
car is dropped off; if you are selling the vehicle the buyer must be
present on the other end of the delivery.
Shipping a Car
Without hesitation, shipping a car takes a lot of trust on your part.
You should interview at least three companies and once you have chosen
one you should be able to trust that company with your vehicle so that
you want add the extra stresses on your mind and have more to worry
about than what you should. Most car shipping companies have insurance
that will cover your vehicle during the move so that in case something
does happen you and your family are covered. You will need to ask your
car shipping company exactly what type of insurance they will offer
you and your family and you also need to know whether it will play as
a primary insurance or a secondary insurance. If you have insurance on
the car and carry collision you should be okay in the event of
something happening anyway. However as an extra precaution it is best
that you get the insurance that they offer to just to be on the safe
side. There are a lot of weather conditions that could harm your
vehicle during the move that you should consider. When you are
shipping a car you have to worry about hail damage and damage that can
occur during a tropical storm or hurricane depending on what the
weather is like and depending upon where you are moving. There have
been cases that car haulers have been involved in floods, in which
your vehicle may be severely damaged. However, keep in mind that these
things only happen in certain places and in certain weather
conditions, it all depends on where you are located and when the move
is taking place.
